Are you ready to take the reins of an iconic property in the heart of Leeds? We're on the lookout for a dynamic and enthusiastic Building Manager to join a well-known commercial property consultancy to manage a 100,000 Sq Ft site multi-let commercial building! If you have the capability to manage a bustling property and deliver exceptional service, this is the job for you.

 

You will lead the charge in keeping the building running smoothly day-to-day. From health and safety to budget management and tenant engagement.

 

Commercial Duties

 

  • Oversee the service charge budget.
  • Deliver management reports.

 

Health and Safety

 

  • Be the health and safety champion! Conduct regular audits, fire drills, and keep our emergency plans and site maps up-to-date.
  • Manage risks like a pro and handle insurance compliance effortlessly.
  • Develop and test our Crisis Management plan annually to keep us prepared for anything.
  • Work with the Senior Facilities Manager and Procurement Department to manage external contracts, ensuring everything meets company policy.
  • Keep detailed records for the site, including asset registers and emergency plans.
  • Liaise with local authorities to stay in the loop with regulations.

 

Customer Service

 

  • Ensure the building, inside and out, is in top condition. Oversee the planned maintenance program and coordinate with service providers and contractors.
  • Build and maintain stellar relationships with our tenants, ensuring they receive the highest standard of service. Attend tenant meetings and be their go-to person.
  • Regularly review contractor work to ensure it meets our high standards.

 

 

Team Management

 

  • Lead the on-site team. Ensure everyone is motivated and part of a high-performing culture.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and carry out annual appraisals.
  • Foster a positive work environment and help your team thrive.

 

What you'll need

 

  • Degree education or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Proven experience in a similar building manager role
  • Strong technical knowledge of premises management.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of Health and Safety legislation and environmental protection requirements.
  • Tech-savvy with experience in industry-specific IT applications.
  • Self-starter who thrives under pressure.
  • IOSH qualification required; IWFM qualification is a bonus!
